The final day of 30 Days of Painting has arrived! All month long I’ve been doing a painting per day (for the most part) with the aim of someday illustrating my stories for myself and my family.
Day 30: Faces in Trees
For the grand finale, I decided to give myself a challenge. I decided to imitate a real life tree in watercolor, with lots of leaves, and heavy detail. These are all things I’m always a little shy about trying – I’ll do details and work from a photo happily in acrylic paint, but with watercolors I typically work from my imagination and focus on lettering or illustration.
Now, I didn’t exactly match the source photo, but I’m pretty happy with how things turned out. To celebrate the finale of the challenge, I’m going to post the final product with every photo effect my phone has to offer.
And that’s a wrap! The end! Fin!
