For 30 days, I’ll be attempting one painting per day in the hopes of growing comfortable with the brush.
Day 18: A Windmill in Iowa
This week I’ve been on the road with only my tiny travel paint set and one brush. Yesterday I found myself with out a pencil to sketch things out, but luckily, I was able to locate one in the deep Mary Poppins recesses of my travel purse just in time for a drive through the American countryside.
Along the drive through Iowa, I sketched out a lone windmill. Most of the mills were in large, dense groups, but for some reason this one was by itself.
I made a few modifications, and painted it up quickly once I was out of the car. I decided to go for a different color scheme, and added a tree to the scene.
But I think you can still see the inspiration.

You’re too nice! I really appreciate your feedback – it’s so difficult to know if I’m making any progress.
