To be called “inspiring” is the highest compliment I can imagine, so it’s such a great honor that I’ve been nominated by two wonderful blogs for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award.
The first is the blog A Tolkienist’s Perspective which is more than just a place to read one author’s thoughts about Middle-Earth, but is instead and ode to the active imagination that Tolkien inspires. An exemplar of this attitude is James’ post on Approaching The Fall of Arthur. He’s reverent, but not dogmatic (a legitimate danger in the world of Tolkien fans), and approaches the stories themselves as stories – which is really what Tolkien wanted. Enjoy the soup as soup – not as an an experiment in dissecting the stock. Thank you for the nomination, James!
The second is the new blog Diotima’s Ladder. It looks like it’s going to be a great mix of the author’s thoughts on philosophy and writing. As a fan of Plato and fiction writing myself, I’m looking forward to seeing this blog grow!
And now I get to nominate other bloggers for this same award. Participation in this award is, as always, completely voluntary, and no offense will be taken should you choose not to participate. This is just a way for me to point readers to some of the amazing blogs I’ve been reading closely, and from which I’ve drawn a ton of inspiration. Check them out, and in turn be inspired too.
